A stakeholder meeting for curriculum revision was successfully conducted by the Department of Mathematical Sciences on the 08th of April, 2021 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences with the objective of obtaining feedback on the contents of the course modules in Mathematics and Statistics offered for the B.Sc. (General/Joint Major/Special) Degree Programs. A number of experts comprising of employers of several leading organizations, senior academics from other universities, and a few alumni of the Faculty of Applied Sciences participated in the proceedings of this meeting along with the staff of the Department. The Dean, Prof. Rohana Perera, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The session started with an introductory briefing on the objectives of the meeting by the Head of the Department, Mrs. PADAN Appuhamy, and a speech by the Dean of the Faculty. Prof. Piyal Ekanayake made a presentation on the history of the University and the development of the curriculum. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Chamly Karunananda, the coordinator of the event. This event was conducted as part of a series of department-wise stakeholder meetings to strengthen the major curriculum revision of the Faculty.
