Dr.Y.A. Ajith Kumarayapa is a permanent academic staff member of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka since 2003. He obtained Senior lecturer Grade 2 promotion in 2008 and upgraded to senior lecturer grade 1 in 2015. He obtained PhD in Information and Communication Engineering (2008) from Dept. of Electronics & Information Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China with the Fulbright  Research  Fellowship  awarded  by  Ministry  of  Higher  education  Sri  Lanka  &  China Scholarship Council (CSC).
