Dr. Wijesinghe joined the Department of Electronics, Faculty of Applied Science, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in 2001. He has been contributing teaching, research, and many other administrative activities in the University. He has obtained B.Sc (Special) Degree in Physics with a First Class Honors from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in 2000, and M.Phill Degree from the University of Colombo in 2007. He obtained his PhD. from the Wesleyan University, Connecticut, USA in 2012.
