The Department of Industrial Management collaborated with Lanka Tiles PLC on a consultancy workshop with the purpose of identifying current industry expectations from the graduates of Industrial Management stream and recognizing potential improvements to the revision of the existing curriculum to meet such expectations. In turn, this platform also facilitated Lanka Tiles PLC to obtain views and solutions from an academic panel of the Department of Industrial Management to address the issues in the company when it is facing in the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Six Sigma. Dr. M.M.D.R Deegahawature, Dr. (Ms.) B.S. Habaragoda and Dr. A.D. Dharmawansa participated in this workshop which was held from 9th to 12th September 2019, representing the department of Industrial Management. Mr. Dinesh Liyanage (TPM Manager), Mr. Mahesh Mendis (Factory Manager) and other staff members of Lanka Tiles PLC also participated in this event. Mr. Sameera Liyanage (Vallibel One PLC) and Mr. Thilak Pushpakumara (consultant) facilitated this four-day consultancy workshop.
