Practical workshop on PCB Designing and Etching Techniques (08.10.2014)

As another annual program, the Society organized a workshop on Printed Circuit Board Designing and Etching Techniques for the members of the Society. Here, the members were able to finalize their own circuit design up to the operation level. The simulation of an electronic circuit, PCB designing, Etching and Routing techniques, Drilling and Soldering were practiced by the participants.

The program was conducted by Dr. Upanith Liyanaarachchi, who was a past office bearer of the Society.

Advance Level Workshop Sessions (11.07.2014)

As a Society belong to a state higher education system, the Electronics Society has identified its nurturing purpose in the external community. To enhance the social responsibility vested on the Society, the members of the Society conducts number of external workshops for the A/L students of the area. Specially, for the least developed schools. As another project of this, the Society successfully completed a workshop on basic practical electronics for the students of Wariyapola Gnanodaya Vidyalaya.

Field Visit (27.06.2014)

The annual field visit of the Electronics Society for the academic year 2013/2014 was a visit to the Victoria Hydro-Power Plant and the Victoria reservoir premises. The members of the Society was fortunate to witness the complete process of hydro-power generation and distribution.

Deyata Kirula Exhibition Stall (21.02.2014 - 28.02.2014)

The Electronics Society was able to represent the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka at the Deyata Kirula 2014 Development Exhibition held in Kuliyapitiya premises of the University. The stall was presented as a combined project with the Etisalat Sri Lanka PLC and many innovative, creative exhibits and prototypes were introduced to the public.

The stall was coordinated by Prof. K. P. Vidanapathirana (Deyata Kirula – Department Coordinator) with the support of the academic and non-academic staff of the Department of Electronics.

The stall was able to earn a significant attraction and admiration from the public with hundreds of positive comments.
